Nuclear Blackmail Won’t Work: India’s clear Message to Pakistan (Social Media)
National News: Pakistan, which has repeatedly faced defeat at India’s hands in every major conflict, continues to resort to provocative rhetoric. In a fresh escalation, Islamabad has issued yet another nuclear threat, this time from none other than its Army Chief, General Asim Munir. The statement, however, met with an unflinching and blunt response from New Delhi, making it clear that India will not bow to intimidation tactics.
During a public event in the United States, Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir made an alarming statement. He claimed that if Pakistan were to face an “existential threat” in a war with India, the country would be prepared to “take half the world with us.” The remark was widely interpreted as a direct reference to Islamabad’s nuclear arsenal and was seen as an attempt to signal readiness for extreme action in case of conflict.
The rhetoric comes against the backdrop of Pakistan’s long-standing strategy of invoking nuclear threats whenever tensions with India rise, a pattern that has repeatedly drawn concern from global security experts.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) wasted no time in issuing a firm rebuttal. In an official statement released on Monday, the MEA said it had taken note of the Pakistani Army Chief’s alleged remarks during his US visit. “Brandishing nuclear weapons is Pakistan’s old habit,” the statement read, highlighting that such threats only add to global concerns about Islamabad’s nuclear control mechanisms.

India described Munir’s words as “irresponsible,” noting that such open nuclear threats only reinforce “well-founded doubts” about the safety and credibility of Pakistan’s nuclear command and control. The MEA also expressed concern over the fact that such comments were made while on the soil of a friendly third country, which in this case was the United States.
According to the ministry, this not only undermines the seriousness of diplomatic dialogue but also projects a dangerous image of a nation whose military maintains close ties with terrorist groups while possessing nuclear capabilities.
India reiterated that it will not be pressured by nuclear posturing and will continue to take every necessary measure to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The MEA reaffirmed that India will never bow to nuclear intimidation, making its position on the matter unequivocally clear.
Security experts believe the latest war of words highlights the persistent instability in South Asia, where Pakistan’s military brass routinely brandishes nuclear threats for political leverage, while India adheres to a policy of strategic restraint—backed by the readiness to counter any provocation.
